Introduction
The Neuro Pedia Club of the Neuropedia OPD, C. M. Patel College of Physiotherapy, organised a vibrant and joyous celebration of Janmashtami on 3rd September, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The event was thoughtfully planned to bring together the paediatric patients, their parents, Adult Neuro patients, and the OPD staff in a spirit of festivity, devotion, and community bonding, while also creating a therapeutic and engaging environment for the children undergoing treatment.
Objective
The celebration aimed to provide a fun-filled and stimulating experience for the paediatric patients, encouraging their participation in creative and expressive activities, while also fostering a sense of cultural and spiritual connection among the adults present. Such activities are known to positively impact the emotional and social well-being of children undergoing neuro-developmental therapy.
Activities Conducted
Fancy Dress Competition for Paediatric Kids — Children dressed up in colourful and creative costumes, showcasing their imagination and confidence in front of an encouraging audience.
Drawing Competition for Kids — A drawing competition was organised to nurture the artistic and cognitive skills of the children, allowing them to express their creativity through art.
Bhajan Competition for Adults — Parents and adult attendees participated enthusiastically in a devotional bhajan competition, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
Dahi Handi — The event featured the traditional Dahi Handi activity, adding an element of festive excitement and cultural authenticity to the celebration.
Krishna Aarti and Bhajan — The programme concluded with a collective Krishna Aarti accompanied by devotional bhajans, bringing a serene and spiritual close to the celebration.

Outcome
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from paediatric patients, their parents, and staff members alike. The fancy dress and drawing competitions brought out the creativity and confidence of the young participants, while the bhajan competition and Dahi Handi activity fostered a joyful and devotional environment among the adults. The celebration successfully created a warm, inclusive, and therapeutic atmosphere within the OPD setting.
